A S hadowed C ourt PlotIn the country of Eldinoch, political stabily is slowly disappearing. With the King old and without an heir, two main noble families have a claim to the throne, and the country has been split in two. The supporters of the Geldenwichs are mostly in the north, and the Sudors are to the south, although all the nobilty have choosen a side to support, mostly through distant relations. The Geldenwich's have long been favourates of the King, a powerful family that have been aristocrats for as long as most can recall. It is, in fact, so large a family that there are many branches, but they all know their where their loyalties lie - within the family's greater interests, by making their heir (second cousin to His Majesty's sister), Zekeal Elor Geldenwich, the sure successor. The Sudor's made their way to the top by a lucky financial flip a few generations before now. They bought out lands of an old Duke with no heir, and made a strong impression at court of being fashionable, strong and clever. However, as a united front they may seem, many believe that their family life behind doors is far from calm. Their heir, is a closer relative, (neice of His Majesty) to the throne than the Geldenwiches, but their hidden divisions within the family could mean they do not get a clean inheritance. But with the King confined to his rooms in illness, rivalry between the families has reached a peak beyond previous petty disagreements. The Duke of Parla, a strong aristocrat who was well known as a trickster, and strongly backing the Sudors, was found dead in his appartment in court. It was believed that assassins, under the pay of the Geldenwiches, had killed him in his sleep. It was later discovered that Parla had been spying on the Geldenwichs. The Roleplay

Setting The setting is based around the Court of Henry VIII, of England, in the early 1500s. The court itself is in the Palace of Hildminster, a beautiful place surrounded with carefully tended gardens and a nearby forest supports the courts regular heavy hunts. The palace is divided in to three parts:
Residentual
Where every coutier lives with his close family, and most families will have rooms nearby each other. You can come here anytime, but mostly you would spend your time filled with entertainment provided at court.
Working
Where food is prepared, the servants quarters, the stables, and such.
Pleasure
This contains the grand dining hall, where regular meals are held. The ballrooms, where regular dances are held. The mens quarter, which usually is filled with gambling, drinks, smoking and similar entertainments. Also the womens quarter, where one would fill their time with sewing, music, and similar entertainments.
It also contains the gardens, which contain tennis courts, (early tennis is not the same as modern, but since I don't want to be fussy about rules and things you can use modern rules.) and a lake.

Characters
The rules are just to:
1.Keep genders and families even, 2.You must be a noble, 3.Doubling allowed, welcomed to increase courtiers, 4.Although it will be placed in Medieval Fantasy, there are no magical or mythical items/people in this world, nor is it techincally advanced. 5.You must pick a family.
Some ideas for playable relatives:
1.Zekeal and Elmora's bitter aunt that Elmora lived with as a child. 2.The Sudor heir. 3.The Sudor heir's mother, sister to the late queen.* 4.Her husband, surname must be Sudor. 5.The Sudor heir's sibling.*
*There is no Sudor heir at the current moment, so you may have to wait, unless you would like to be the heir themself.
I play the Geldenwich heir, and his sister.
This is the code required to make your character:

Characters so far: Geldenwich Character's Name: Zekeal Elor Geldenwich Age: 25 Gender: Male Family they support: Evidently Geldenwich. Relation to the heir: Is the heir. Physical Description: Tall, thin and dark. He is always elegantly dressed, in shirts and leggings. Personality: He tends to be diplomatic and graceful, but there is a streak of raw ambition in him that leads him to do anything to help the family cause. Although he is loyal and gentle to those he loves, he is often self centred and arrogant. He is sporty and clever on top of that, considered one of the most talented courtier and thinks himself the most popular. Status at court: High History: He was born to be brought up as a Duke's son, and his father taught him to read, write and sew. However, his elder sister and mother died from a deadly fever, which killed many on the estate. His youngest sister, Elmora, he shared a bond of great love, although his father was jelous that Elmora, not his wife, Elizabeth, or the model daughter Anne, survived the plague when she, the 'worse' of the two daughters, survived. The Duke had favoured his son and when the King grew older, heirless, he relised Zekeal was perfect for the role. From then on, Zekeal made a perfect life at court, trying to buy over supporters and give his family the upper hand.
Character's Name: Elmora Jane Geldenwich Age: 16 Gender: Female Family they support: Geldenwich Relation to the heir: Sister Physical Description: Petite, pale, not all that pretty or elegant, unsporting and weakly. She dresses as well as she can but she will never be stunning like some of the ladies at court. Personality: Sweet, loving and quickwitted. She may not be the prettiest, but she has a sharp and clever tongue and has good ears to pick any harsh words against the Geldenwiches. She is a determined optimist and wants to make her own way at court, not be downtrodden by her father or molly-coddled by her brother. Status at court: In the middle. History: She lived with her aunt after her mother and sister died, and her aunt was a bitter widow, and was far stricter than her mother had ever been. When Zekeal invited her to court she was delighted, but she knows soon she must become a bride, since if Zekeal was King then the Dukedom would go to her lawfully wedded husband. Of course, even if Zekeal failed his task, she would need a husband.
Character's Name: Dacian Rem Sulvyrger
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Family they support: Geldenwich
Relation to the heir: Cousin
Physical Description: Tall and slightly tanned, had red hair with brown eyes and usually wears any clothes of the middle class even though he is not.
Personality: He hates politics and disgusted with the state of affairs between the two families, he finds it all so futile and silly. He is more concerned with the state of the people in the country and their problems.
Status at court: Middle
History: Living with only his mother, as his mother had run away from his father taking him with her. His mother usually left him alone as she worked very hard and was hardly ever home. Dacian spent alot of his childhood spending time with his cousions, he especially played with Elmora and could not play with Zekeal because he was being raised as a Duke's son and he was afraid of their father.
Sudor Character's Name: Bethany Sudor Age:32 Gender:Female Family they support: Sudor Relation to the heir: Mother Physical Description: Stunningly pretty, dark haired and dove-eyed, with smooth, pale skin. Tall and commands a powerful presence. She is slim and wears the lastest gowns; even if they are a little low cut. Personality:With those above her around her, Bethany is the model of obedience, clever and often sucks up to them. Around those that are below her she is dismissive, childish and commanding. She has a strained relationship with her husband and this often leads to bouts of snappyness and jelous of younger girls. She is softly spoken and wishes that she had cared for her child, the heir, more, instead of leaving it to nurses and aunts. Status at court: At the top of the middle History: Once the fourth daughter of a Baron in North Eldinoch, Bethany was expected to become a nun or an old spinster--there was no way anybody would want to marry the fourth girl. Her eldest sister, Margaret, caught the eye of the young King and the were soon engaged to the delight of the Baron. While growing up, Bethany lived in court as her sister's lady in waiting, accompanied by her other two sisters. However, Bethany displayed a talent at courtiership--she caught the eye of none other than the Duke of Rednar's heir, Edmund Sudor. Edmund had fallen deep in love with Bethany, and the Baron granted his fourth daughter's marriage with delight and congratulations to his clever, beautiful daughters whose marriages had brought him so much power. In her first year of marriage, Bethany bore a baby girl, ______. Her sister Margaret also had a baby girl. A year later, disaster struck. Magaret's child died. In the following four years, she suffered two miscarriges and a still born boy. Bethany was heartbroken. Terrified of suffering like that herself, she told her husband she wanted no more children. Edmund was extremely angry-with Magaret's failure to produce an heir, the next in line would be their child. And it had to be a boy, or the name of Sudor would be lost. Bethany stuck to her argument their girl would be capable of sustaining the throne with her future husband, knowing the real reason behind her failiure--fear.
